Live and Work at Bishop's House on Iona

Bishop's House relies on a combination of seasonal staff and shorter term volunteers to help provide the warm welcome and hospitality our guests have come to know and love.

We have now recruited our team for 2017. But if you are interested in the experience of a lifetime – housekeeping or cooking and living on a beautiful, peaceful and legendary Scottish island – then do get in touch in the autumn… The season generally runs from late February to early November but we are hoping to put a toe into the water for a winter season…! All posts are live-in, ideally, and applicants need to be passionate and professional about delivering hospitality in the setting of a small and friendly retreat house.

We also offer a volunteer placement on Iona throughout our open season. We have been inundated with applicants for 2017 so please only complete the expression of interest form below if you are thinking about volunteering in 2018. Thank you!

We encourage volunteers to join us for a period of at least three months, as we feel this will help you get the most out of the experience. Full board and lodging are provided free of charge, and reasonable expenses can be reimbursed. We can accommodate either a single volunteer or potentially a volunteer couple. A more detailed description and expression of interest form are given below.
