Friends' Bursary Fund

The Friends of the Cathedral of the Isles exists to provide support to the life, work and Christian witness of the Cathedral of the Isles and the College of the Holy Spirit.

The Friends provide support for:

  1. the amenities of the Cathedral and its grounds.
  2. the enhancing of the Cathedral and any restoration work  to its furnishings.
  3. the preservation of the Cathedral’s plate and other adjuncts of divine worship.
  4. the promotion of music and the maintaining of the organ.
  5. the work of the library and other rooms in the College to encourage spirituality, devotion and serious study.
  6. any objective or project connected with the Cathedral and College as approved by the Provost, the Warden or the Trustees of Island Retreats Limited.

The Friends of the Cathedral operate a bursary fund which exists to enable those who may need some financial support to attend events on the Open Programme at The College of The Holy Spirit. Applications are treated in strict confidence and are open to all: you do not have to be a member of The Friends.

If you wish to attend something in the Open Programme at the College but cannot afford the full cost then you are invited to apply for a bursary to assist you. This can be done by downloading a simple one-page application form and returning it to the Warden. Please note that priority is given to those seeking assistance for residential stays.
